PACN volunteers are everyday people from all walks of life who know what it’s like to struggle with serious life decisions. They are the parents, friends and neighbors in our community who take joy in empowering and educating others toward life-affirming choices in the midst of difficult circumstances.

There are many opportunities to serve at PACN using your uinique gifts and abilities. All peer counselors, PACE (Post Abortion Counseling & Education) leaders, and medical personnel must complete our Volunteer Training Seminar. This 21-hour seminar is held locally, offering excellent material on topics ranging from abortion to listening skills, domestic violence, to abstinence. Trainees will observe, practice and role play real life situations.

Fall Training Dates: October 5, 7, 8, 12, 14, 15
Time: 6 – 9:30 PM
Place: Christ Church United Methodist in The Woodlands

When you are cooking eggs on the sidewalk during the summer heat, think ahead to October 4, 2010 – PACN’s Golf Challenge Tournament at Augusta Pines.

Registration begins at 7:30 AM with the driving range and putting greens available. Shotgun Start – 8:30 AM

PACN conducts three trainings each year for women and men who want to volunteer as a Peer Counselor. A Peer Counselor meets with women, men and families experiencing unintended pregnancies. Those who come to PACN looking for help are often frightened and unsure of what to do. A Volunteer Peer Counselor offers acceptance, someone to talk to, hope, assistance and resources to help them during their pregnancy; having a positive impact on their lives both now and eternally.

It is proven that volunteering is good for your health. Volunteers enjoy longer lives, have higher functional ability and have lower rates of depression and heart disease.

This year PACN celebrated SOHL by inviting:

• Participating churches to engage in our “Change for Life” baby bottle campaign. PACN delivered baby bottles to the churches for their church families to take home and fill and refill with change, bills and/or checks. It was a great way for the whole family to get involved. And the response was overwhelming.

We thank all who participated and made this campaign a great success.
